With KM-1e we excel in special mediums

Like many of the most virtuous digital printing companies, Compos Center traces its origins back to the world of prepress. Founded in 1982 as a photocomposition service, the Como-based company had to adapt with the advent of desktop publishing. Starting in the 1990s, they systematically invested in digital printing technology. Throughout their production history, a variety of sheet and roll machines with toner and Electroink technology have been employed, always focused on niche and high-quality productions for communication agencies, high-end furniture manufacturers, and local print shops. In the early 2000s, Compos Center introduced large-format inkjet technology, expanding their services to include printing on rigid and flexible materials for indoor and outdoor installations.

Starting from 2007, the printer initiated a strategic collaboration with OTC, an Italian startup dedicated to sports events, founded by Massimiliano Martinelli and Stefano Larghi, both cycling enthusiasts. The new company commissioned increasing volumes of paper-based and promotional products from Compos Center, eventually becoming their top client. Ten years later, the decision of Compos Center's owners to cease operations created the conditions for OTC to take over the business. The transition was completed in 2018, coinciding with a technological renewal plan, increased digital production capacity, and independence from external suppliers. In this context, in August 2022, Compos Center installed a Konica Minolta KM-1e inkjet printer in B2+ format.
